H ISTORY
Motivated by Mt. Veeder wines from Napa(USA), partners Hérnan & Eduardo Gras, and Cristián Hartwig looked for a prime site in Colchagua for the production of ultra-premium grapes and in its heart, discovered Ninquén.
Decisive Factors were
-Terroir
-Colchagua climate
-Proximity to existing winery
-Had expert consultants in hill top plantation.
★ Exposition: Faces northward, towards the Equator and runs East to West.
★ Altitude(m / ft. asl ): 490 / 1,600
★ Soils: Poor, varied and shallow(50 -60 cm ).
★ Consulting Vineyard & Soil experts.

★ More oscillation in temperatures than in the valley.
★ Vigour Control (irrigation, pruning , nutrition).
★ Balance between vegetal growth and fruit charge.

PHILOSOPHY:A HANDCRAFTED WINE
★ Differentiated harvesting & selective picking by block and row determined by Winemakers and Vineyard Manager according to maturity level of the fruit.
★All grape varieties are hand picked at its optimum moment of ripeness.
★ Each grape is individually selected.
★ All organic material is removed by the especially trained staff.
WINERY: Gravitational technique unique in Chile .
★ 8 Stainless steel tanks of 12,000 litres each. (3.160 gallons)
★ 96,000 litre capacity. (25,790 gallons)
★ Wine is aged in new French & American oak barrels.
