自從18世紀從法國引進後,卡門變成智利限定產區中獨特的品種,也是今日不知名變種葡萄唯一重要的來源。孟格拉斯酒莊位於智利酒國中心點的科恰瓜山谷,典型地中海型氣候最適合生產濃郁香醇的紅酒。

相信在智利獨特的條件下卡門成為變種葡萄中的佼佼者,在未來有可能偏向卡貝納蘇維翁甚至成為喜若品種。精選卡門紅酒帶著淡淡的綠胡椒辛香味,同時帶出巧克力和成熟水果香。酒莊重要的工作在於需要花費長時間的催熟期再加上非常小心的釀酒技術,如此多少幫助提升酒的變化,也給我們圓潤且平衡的好酒。在選擇橡木桶的條件,卡門並不適合煙燻味重的木桶,所以為了要有紮實又圓潤的單寧,選擇儲存在稍加煙燻過的橡木桶內六個月。

Introduced from France in the 1800s, Carmenère has developed a unique personality in the "terroir" of Chile , which is today the only significant source of this uncommon varietal grape. The MontGras vineyards, located in the Colchagua Valley , are in the heart of the Chilean wine country. The climate is typically Mediterranean , favouring the production of rich concentrated red wines.

We believe that the Carmenère variety is Chile 's unique offer rather than the flagship variety, which would definitely be Cabernet Sauvignon and in the future, may eventually be Syrah. In this wine, the hints of green pepper have given way to chocolate and ripe black fruit characteristics. Unsurpassable vineyard work, the long ripening period plus a careful vinification definitely helped to enhance this transformation and give us this round and balanced wine. In terms of oak ageing, Carmenère doesn't like toasted barrels too much so light toasting for 6 months was the answer for firm, yet rounded tannins.

vanilla and mocha from the oak ageing. 新鮮熟透的黑醋栗、黑莓及帶點辛香味等複雜香氣且伴隨著香草及因在橡木桶中熟成帶有摩卡香味。
Flavours : Vibrant core of ripe blackberry, plums and spice. Nicely balanced and deep, yet well structured, ending with a long,
complex finish. 成熟且柔順的單寧,紮實的酒體及新鮮度賦予此酒圓潤的單寧及良好的酸度。因為儲存於好的橡木桶中,使得此酒有完美的酒體而有令人着迷且餘韻不斷的口感。

Vinification Process釀造法及過程
Harvest Date :  The grapes were selected and hand harvested between May 10th and May15th, 2014 當年5月10日至15日用手工挑選採擷葡萄。
Type and age of oak : 80%法國橡木桶及20%美國橡木桶;25%全新跟75% 舊的橡木桶。
Yeast : PDM酵母菌
Fermentation Temperature : 先冷泡2天後進行發酵,發酵溫度介於攝氏25到32度。

Time in Oak : 靜置桶中6個月熟成
